Always in Grind Mode

"Everybody is wired differently. If you're an entrepreneur, you're wired as an entrepreneur. You want to live your life doing what it is you want to do. You want to be dominating something."

Welcome back to The Moonlighters' Club. We've got another entertaining and enlightening episode ready for you.

This week, Joel sits down with Mike McPherson - who works in the finance and accounting department at Boston University from 9 to 5, and then reprises his role as Founder and CEO of ChurchBoy Clothing Entertainment once he's off the clock.

Mike grew up in Dorchester and currently calls the Boston area home. His education took place both in the classroom and in the business world, where he worked hard to have as many experiences as possible. He found his groove in sales, and has opened the door whenever opportunity knocked.

When Mike isn't dealing with the university's finances, he's still busy. In addition to planning, booking, and promoting area Christian Hip Hop gatherings, he manages 10-15 Boston-based artists, helping them refine their branding and marketing. That's not all he does, though. Mike contributes content to one of the biggest Christian Hip Hop websites and is also a Youth Leader at his church. He even manages his younger sister's burgeoning music career.

Although Mike says his drive for success was never spurred on by money, these days, he credits his wife and kids as the reason he's always hustling so hard. The entrepreneurial spirit runs through him, and he endeavors to dominate the local business landscape while lifting up the area community of like-minded music lovers

Listen to learn about what else inspires him to keep grinding - and what he hates about taking naps.
